Having the second highest rating on MyAnimeList with a score of 8.9 after Frieren, The Apothecary Diaries (Japanese: 薬屋のひとりごと, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) officially aired its final episode to conclude its first season on March 24th. This news undoubtedly saddened some viewers as they bid farewell to one of the best anime of this season after its 7-month run since October 23rd last year. However, the Official Twitter account kusuriya_pr suddenly announced that The Apothecary Diaries will be getting a second season, dropping a new promotional video yesterday (March 23) at 11:24 PM. This announcement has certainly sparked excitement among fans.

 


In the 52-second promotional video, several familiar characters from season 1 are featured, including Maomao, the main character who is an apothecary; Jinshi, the harem pavilion manager; Loulan, the latest concubine; and Suirei, the mysterious girl who faked her death. Season 2 of this anime will continue from Season 1, following the storyline of the light novel and manga that have been previously released. The production is once again handled by OLM and TOHO Animation Studio, so fans can expect no changes in enjoying the beautiful visuals. The second season of The Apothecary Diaries is scheduled to air in 2025, so stay tuned for the exact release date!
