Madhouse did it again! Frieren vs Frieren Epic Battle in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Ep. 26

The anime Frieren: Beyond Journey's Ends (Japanese: 葬送のフリーレン, Sousou No Furiren) once again left the audience gaping in amazement. Because, the studio Madhouse, again, presents stunning visual details in the latest episode, which is episode 26 entitled The Height of Magic (Japanese: 魔法の高み, Mahou no Takami)

This episode is a continuation of the previous episode, "A Fatal Vulnerability (Japanese: 致命的な隙, Chimeiteki na Suki) where Frieren, the elf mage with great powers who has lived for thousands of years, and his apprentice Fern, take the second exam to become a first-class mage. The second exam is held in a maze dungeon and the mission is to find treasure in the maze. However, the maze turns out to be protected by Spiegel, a creature that can create clones based on appearance as well as their memories and abilities. The trouble begins when Frieren's clone guards the last gate of treasure in the maze.

Frieren's clone, made by Spiegel

Being a legendary mage who defeated the Demon King and saved the world with her hero party, Frieren's clone will certainly be very difficult to defeat, almost impossible. And it's time for Madhouse to go 'mad'! The latest episode when Frieren and Fern together fight against Frieren's clone is packed with detailed and very epic visual illustrations. Here are some of the clips below:

Frieren creates a golem to support her attack from above.

The magical effect and Frieren's rich body movement to dodge.

Another stunning magical effect visualization.

It's hard to imagine doing all this for one episode, but this is Madhouse, consistently presenting epic battle scenes like they did in the first series of One Punch Man. Every episode of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is produced at cinema-tier class, with details and visuals that are truly pleasing to the eye. One of the fans on YouTube Muse Indonesia also commented that Madhouse is really skilled at providing details and even improvising from the original manga scene. This is certainly a breath of fresh air for fans who have been waiting for these epic scenes to be animated.
